Left side of hip hurts—could it be arthritis????

One morning about a week ago I woke up and my left hip hurt. I thought it was because I slept on it wrong but it’s been a week now and hurts just as much. I’m wondering if it’s arthritis. But, could arthritis just show up out of the blue like that? I haven’t told my husband because I don’t want to make much ado about nothing.

Anyone have any ideas?

Homeopathic equivalent of naproxen, or other meds for pain (arthritis).?

looking for the Homeopathic equivalent of naproxen (ALEVE) or other meds for pain for moderate joint pain (arthritis). A quick search in google returned Arnica, but not sure of dosage. Any ideas?

Can someone with a total hip replacement get arthritis?

I had a total hip replacement in 2005. I now find I am having pain like the pain before my hip replacement. I am 5ft 7in. I weigh 124 pounds. The pain I have is located in my groin area and all the way around my hip. It then shoots into my upper thigh area. I limp when I walk because weight hurts on that side. I also cannot get moving when I first go to get up. I have to allow it time to warm up. When I lay down it is hard to get into a position that is comfortable.
My doctor has not seen me, but over the phone thinks it could be lower back pain. I had an MRI six months ago due to unusual swelling in the lower part of the same leg as the hip replacement. The MRI showed nothing was wrong with my back. Could this be arthritis? Many times to help solve the problem people have hip replacements. That is why I wanted to know if you can get arthritis if you have a total hip replacement.

Thank you,
Scarlett O

Arthritis Pain?

I have osteoarthritis in my spine and whenever I mop or sweep I have such pain I can hardly stand it upper back and shoulders. Due to kidney disease I am unable to take any pain relievers such as aspirin, motrin, vicodin etc.

I went to the health store and tried to buy some alternative pain meds in the form of herbs. I shouldn’t have wasted my time or money as the herbs I got did absolutely nothing for the pain.

What does it mean to have Osteoarthritis AND scoliosis?

I’m 26 and I just found out that I have Osteoarthritis and Scoliosis in my lower back. What exactly does this mean for me? My doctor was kind of vague with me with this diagnosis. I have a LOT of lower back pain and it hurts all the time and I don’t know what to do. My doctor recommended physical therapy, but my work’s health insurance doesn’t cover it. I have tried Aleve, but it doesn’t phase it.

Hip Pain??

I’m new to cycling and have been been riding for about 4 months now. With each passing month, I’m increasing the distance of my rides as I train to complete a Century this November. Lately, I’ve noticed when I get to about mile 12 of my rides I start to feel some discomfort in my right hip. It’s not enough pain to cause me to stop riding, but it’s certainly an announce. I would best describe the pain as being being dull in nature. The only way to relieve the discomfort is to straighten my leg out, but once I begin using my feet to rotate the pedals again, the pain resumes. Perhaps this has to do with core strength? Or, maybe I’m way off base…any thoughts?
